Tier 3 Class/DPS Armed Guard

This class meets and exceeds the training requirements for AZ DPS Armed Guard AND fulfills the Tier 3 24-hour annual training requirements for AZ state contracts. 24 hours over 2 days.

Some Topics to be Covered:
  • Firearm Safety
  • Legal Issues Concerning Use Of Deadly Force
  • Mental Conditioning & Tactics
  • Weapons Manipulation & Marksmanship
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Nonverbal Training
  • Situational Awareness
  • Advanced Active Shooter
  • Hostage Situations
  • This class fulfills the training requirements for the AZ Armed Guard Card/Refresher.

Equipment Required:

  • Handgun
  • Duty Holster
  • Duty Belt & ALL YOUR Duty Gear
  • 3 Magazines and Pouches
  • 300 Rounds of Ammunition Minimum
  • Body Armor if you have it
  • Flashlight
  • Knee Pads recommended
  • Eye and Ear Protection
  • Lunch & Dinner – 2 days
  • Water and Snacks
  • Notebook & Pen
  • Please wear appropriate clothing. We will be training regardless of weather conditions.
  • Jacket, hat, and sunscreen according to weather.

Tier 2/Defensive Tactics Class

This training meets the Tier 2 16-hour annual training requirements for AZ State contracts. 16 hours over 2 days.

  • Defensive Tactics
  • Legal Issues Concerning Use Of Force
  • Mental Conditioning
  • Unarmed Self Defense
  • Use of Intermediate Weapons
  • Use of Handcuffs
  • OC Spray, Taser,and Baton
  • Situational Awareness
  • Escalation/De-escalation Drills

Equipment Required:

  • Handgun (If Armed Guard)
  • Duty Holster 
  • Duty Belt & ALL YOUR Duty Gear
  • Taser, Handcuff, Baton, and Pouches if you have it
  • NO Ammunition ALLOWED
  • Body Armor if you have it
  • Lunch –2 days
  • Water and Snacks
  • Notebook & Pen
  • Please wear appropriate clothing.

Unarmed Security Guard Class

.

This is the AZ DPS approved 8-hour class to qualify for an Arizona guard card. This class also satisfies the DPS requirements for a 2 year renewal. 8 hours.
